Development Offices Building Conversion

Washington & Lee University
Lexington, Virginia

Originally constructed as a fraternity house, the three-story building with basement was later converted to university housing. Our conversion of the structure to the University's Development Offices involved updated floor plans, interior renovations, and some exterior restoration. The program included new meeting rooms, offices, call center, and support spaces. Mechanical and electrical systems were also upgraded.

The new fixtures and contemporary interior color scheme reinforce the University's brand. Although spaces were strategically opened up to promote interaction and enhance natural light, the design preserves the overall plan and many aspects of the historic parts of the building.
