Duchossois Tennis Center & Activities Pavilion Renovations

Washington & Lee University
Lexington, Virginia

This two-building renovation project arose from the need for new varsity athletic,  intramural, and support space while the University's main gymnasium was being renovated.

Roughly half of the Duchossois Tennis Center was transformed into the venue for varsity basketball and volleyball games and practices. The design team considered how to quickly and easily transform the space for each sport. Other elements of the project included enhanced locker rooms and training spaces, provisions for spectators, and related game-day improvements.

The Activities Pavilion was originally constructed as a party venue. The renovations included enhancements to temporarily support several other university sports teams and the intramural program.
