Crystal Spring Medical Office Building and Parking Structure

Carilion Clinic
Roanoke, Virginia

The three-story structure with basement is approximately 70,000 square feet and includes a number of different physician practices, a pharmacy, and central lab. The adjacent garage serves the building and other Carilion facilities nearby, spanning the adjacent street on the upper level to provide more convenient access.

Constructed on a prominent site in the South Roanoke neighborhood, the building's architecture relates to the larger Roanoke Memorial Hospital a few blocks away. The round element of the mass houses the pharmacy and addresses the corner. The exterior materials, including glass, sunshades, window frames, and brick/precast accents reinterpret the hospital's design and relate back to the larger structure - contributing to a common language for the Clinic's buildings around the local area.

The project was designed and managed by Drew Kepley while a Principal at SFCS Inc., Architect of Record. Wilbur Smith Associates was consultant on the parking structure.
